Prefequity is proud to be named as a sponsor for the Bristol Gulls, an all-female crew participating in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, a gruelling 3,000 mile rowing race across the Atlantic.

The Gulls will be raising both money for the RNLI and Clean Up Bristol Harbour and also awareness about marine plastic pollution. They will be racing in a unique eco-boat, designed and built for the purpose from plant-based resin and 100% recycled plastic foam and glass fibres. Also all packaging taken on board will be recycled and much of their kit will be made from recycled marine plastic.

The race is scheduled to depart from San Sebastian, La Gomera, Canary Islands in December and finish in the English Harbour, Antigua and Barbuda. Around 30 crews from around the world take part in a range of crew sizes. The aim is to complete the crossing unassisted. The current race record for an all-female crew record is 34 days, 13 hours, 13 minutes.

The Gulls will row in pairs; rowing for two hours followed by two hours off. When not rowing, they will sleep, eat, clean and catch-up on jobs around the boat.

Good luck to Chloe, Lorna, Sarah and Sofia from all the team at Prefequity!
